Rookie Kyle Busch won the pole for Sunday's Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200 from the Nazareth Speedway. The No.5 Lowe's Chevrolet driver posted a best
lap of 27.446 seconds (131.167 m.p.h.).
The pole victory was the fourth for Busch this season.
"The guys are doing an unbelievable job," said Busch. "I didn't think the lap was all that good, but it held up."
Regan Smith put up the second-best time qualifying Kasey Kahne's No.38 Dodge. Kahne was unavailable for qualifying as he was at the Lowe's Motor
Speedway in Concord, NC for the Nextel All-Star Challenge. Other Nextel drivers who missed the session were Michael Waltrip and Greg Biffle. Shane
Hmiel and Mike McLaughlin qualified their cars fourth and 27th, respectively.
