Plans for a Nextel Cup race in New York would help NASCAR to an even greater degree. Donald Trump has been active in trying to build a track and bring
a race to the metropolitan area.Atlantic City looks at what racing has done for Las Vegas and sees a definite benefit for South Jersey and the
surrounding area.
Think about the number of people who live near New York City. Pocono tries to draw fans from the big city, but it's a pretty far. If the race track
was within a 40-mile range of New York City, it would just be awesome.
Auto racing can do so much for a community, from engineering to public relations. I don't think a lot of people realize just how big a business NASCAR
really is. So I think there's a lot to be said for and a lot to be gained by New York City and NASCAR from racing in the Big Apple.
