Paul Heyman has apparently been removed from the WWE creative team. It is worth noting that since Heyman's return to the Smackdown creative team a few months ago, the show has risen from its lowest ratings point to its highest level in more than a year.

Paul Heyman is STILL with WWE as of now though.

It is said that Stephanie McMahon was the main catalyst in having Paul Heyman removed from the Smackdown! writing team with encouragement from Brian Gewirtz. Vince McMahon originally put Heyman on the writing time, despite the wishes of Stephanie. It is not known exactly what "caused" Heyman to be pulled off the team, but it could have been something as small as Heyman saying he was disappointed that Taz lost to HHH on Raw (On the ECW DVD) since it is widely known that both HHH & Stephanie's ego's are very fragile.

Heyman was also said to make some of the hire's that Stephanie McMahon had made look incompetent, because of their lack of knowledge for wrestling and that this was probably another factor which weighed into him being removed. It has been reported that Heyman did not let personal issues get in his way as a member of the Smackdown! writing team.

Heyman would reportedly get upset after putting together a Smackdown! script and then having it changed on a whim by either Stephanie McMahon or Vince. Heyman was also well known for his inspired "pre-Smackdown!" meetings in which he would go over the script for the show with the wrestlers, whereas on the other hand, Dave Lagana is much more matter-of-fact and bland in his presentation.

The original reason behind Heyman's dismissal was thought to have been because he was outspoken, but that may not be the case now.

Heyman was apparently dismissed for listening in to a Raw booking meeting without permission. Heyman was allowed access to Smackdown! booking meetings, but not Raw. Before each Raw, the writers take place in conference calls, so they can discuss ideas about the show.

Roll is taken at the beginning of each call. A system is in place to announce when anyone joins the call or when someone hangs up. Unexpectedly during a recent Raw meeting, the system announced that a person had left. Stephanie took roll and everyone was still there.

The WWE was fearful that someone had breached their system, but they were able to track the number in the call and the number belonged to Paul Heyman.

This was the last straw for Heyman and he was put on leave of absence by Stephanie.

It is still uncertain if this will be permanent. Vince basically had to convince Stephanie to let Heyman back on the booking team the last time there were problems and she was reluctant to do so. This time around, it might be impossible to convince her.

So to sum it up, the reason as to Heyman being dimissed may not be because he was outspoken, yet rather untrustworthy.

Paul Heyman's name has been removed from the SmackDown superstars page. Daniel Puder's has been added.

For those keeping score on Heyman and WWE, we're told that he is on an 'extended leave of absence'. We do expect him to return at some point, but he will serve a healthy suspension before doing so.

As of right now, there are no plans for Heyman to play a role in the ECW PPV in June of this year. That plan is only in the very beginning stages though and things will really start to heat up as that PPV draws near.
