Est. Attendance: 6500

They showed the Desire video. Biggest pops went to Kamla, Rock and Austin, and Gorge The Animal Steele.

Velocity

Rene Dupree without Fifi vs. Chad Murdoc (Local Siox City indy worker) The finish came by submission, a new move from Dupree. This could have been a dark match. Not sure.

The Velocity opening took place with no pyro.

Nunzio and Funaki vs. Spike Dudley and Akio Spike and Nunzio started the match off to a loud ECW chant. The finish came when Funaki reversed the Dudley Dog off the ropes. Funaki gets the rollup with the tights.

Paul London is out for commentary and in the ring right now is Chavo Guerrero against Shannon Moore. London punched Chavo a few times.. during the match. Shannon got upper hand until Chavo hit the El Paso on him. Chavo and London exchange words after the match.

MNM vs. Stevie Lee and Jason Bates (2 Jobbers). MNM got the pin in about five minutes. Sorry for no detail here.

They show a video recap of Booker T and Kurt Angle to end SmackDown! last week while they setup for Carlito's Cabana.

Tazz and Michael Cole come out.

SmackDown!:

SmackDown! pyro explodes.

They announce a handicap match for tonight with The Basham Brothers vs. John Cena.

Carlito is in the ring and says since Big Show didn't accept his offer last week, he is going to issue the same offer to anyone who wants to take it. Matt Morgan comes out and they agree to take each other up. Big Show's music hits and he goes to chokeslam Carlito. Morgan comes in with a chair and hits Big Show on the back and the two escape. Big Show gets up and walks to the back.

They show a paid commercial by JBL. (Paid for by the family and friends of John Bradshaw Layfield etc etc). It basically rips up John Cena and his new CD.

They cut to the inner city where JBL is standing on a street corner. He says rappers aren't thugs and that they belong in jail. He reads some of Cena's lyrics and then plugs his own book. He claims his book doesn't have a parental warning like Cena's CD does. (This may have been for the live crowd only)

JBL's music hits in the arena and he comes out. Scotty Too Hotty comes out and it's basically a squash match with JBL beating him all over. He gives him the clothesline from hell but doesn't go for the pin and instead takes him to the corner and starts punching the living hell out of him until he gets DQed. He tries to make him say I Quit but he wont do it. JBL takes him to the outside of the ring and over to the announce table where he beats him with the belt until he finally says I Quit.

They show a video of John Cena throwing out the first pitch at a Boston Red Sox game.

They cut to Booker T, Sharmell, and Teddy Long backstage. Teddy Long has banned Kurt Angle from the arena tonight. It'll also be Booker T vs. Mark Jindrak for tonight. Long apologized and Kurt Angle will also apologize or he will be suspended indefinitely.

They aired a promo for ECW One Night Stand.

JBL and The Bashams are in the back and JBL said he would be there tonight against John Cena. Teddy Long showed up and said if he touched Cena tonight, he'd be fined.

Mark Jindrak is backstage with Sharmell. He told Sharmell not to take what Kurt said last week so personal. He says maybe he himself likes bestiality. Booker T shows up and the two start fighting through the backstage area to the arena floor. Booker flips Jindrak into the rail and he's a bloody mess. A pretty quick match with Booker T winning with a scissors kick.

Eddie Guerrero comes to the ring and just sits there for two minutes. He didn't say a word, then stood up with Rey's mask and stomped on before leaving.

Orlando Jordan vs. John Heidenrich. John did his usual spiel at the beginning trying to find a friend. Orlando came out and said nobody wanted to be his friend and that he was keeping the US Champion waiting. Jordan takes control early on until John comes back with a series of clotheslines and powerslams. Heidenrich hits his finisher (?) and gets the clean win. Non title match, no title switch. After the match, Heidenrich brings a kid into the ring.

They recap Kurt Angle and Booker T from last week again.

They announce MNM vs. Bob Holly and Charlie Haas at Judgment Day.

Mercury of MNM w/ Nitro vs. Bob Holly w/ Charlie Haas. Brutal chops by Holly. Holly hits a suplex off the top rope and they exchange right punches for about 20 seconds. Nitro tries to interfere by grabbing Holly's leg but it backfires and Holly hits Mercury with the Alabama Slam for the pin.

They do a RAW rebound.

They did some Cross Pormotion with The Longest Yard and Nelly. Nelly did an interview saying he liekd Cena;'s new rap video and said he has potential. he said "It's Hot"/

Kurt Angle on the Titan Tron because he's banned from the arena. He says he apologizes and he's man enough to admit a mistake. They cut to Booker T and Sharmell backstage watching a TV with Angle apologizing. They say it was somewhat sincere and walked off. Kurt Angle continues on after and says to be honest, Sharmell is a gutter slut. Booker T hears this and keeps watching. He says last week they kissed and she was screaming for more, not Booker T. He says they kissed over and over and she liked it. He said she also fondled his private parts and they both loved it. Funny stuff here. Ends with Booker T dropkicking the TV making it explode.

They cut to Josh Mathews interviewing John Cena in the back. Cena was reading JBL's book and made fun of chapters. He said there is a how to diversify your portfolio chapter, a how to lose the title at WrestleMania chapter, and a How to say I Quit while getting your ass beat by John Cena. He says JBL brings religion into this saying he's a wrestling god. Cena says he may be a god, but he's a .... Josh Mathews cuts him off and says "A prophet?" Mathews then says "Do I need to bust a cap in yo ass?" Cena makes him leave and thats "Man, that's as bad as JBL'ss ex life".

John Cena vs. Bashams. There was a lot of double team action... JBL gets on the mic and taunts Cena during the match. He tells him to Quit abd says Tick Tock Tick Tock. Cena hit the FU on Doug Basham for the win. There is a standoff between JBL and Cena. Cena turns to his back and JBL attacks from behind. JBL chokes Cena with towel and tries to get him to say I Quit.. all he can get out of him is Go To Hell. Cena powers up, sidewalk slam, JBL goes escapes and the show ends with Cena telling JBL to learn more dictionary words including I Quit as the crowd chants I Quit as SmackDown! ends.

At an autograph session in Minnesota, Kurt Angle told fans that he's tentatively scheduled to begin a title feud with John Cena in the weeks that follow tonight's PPV. While he did note that a draft to RAW would obviously nix such plans, if Angle's words are to be taken seriously, he potentially revealed two spoilers for tonight's Judgment Day PPV.

On the subject of being drafted to RAW, Angle noted that he's one of the only "original" SmackDown! wrestlers still working the Thursday night program, so he'd welcome the prospect of change.

The talk backstage is that Vince McMahon and the higher-ups are trying their best to make this PPV better than the one last year. Last year, Judgment Day was regarded as one of the worst PPVs in a while by fans and wrestlers alike. Most notably Ric Flair stated in an interview that it revealed the status of SmackDown! With that being said, WWE is trying it's hardest to make the card that much better by adding guaranteed classics like Guerrero-London and Guerrero-Mysterio, and adding stipulations guaranteed to elevate a match like the "I Quit" match.

It is no secret that John Cena is expected to walk out of the arena tonight WWE Champion. Cena and Angle are scheduled to go into a title feud in the following months. With JBL losing tonight, it is also expected that John Cena do some form of gesture with the two titles, and one source backstage hinted that he will "destroy" JBL's belt.

With Angle-Cena being planned at Great American Bash and possibly Summerslam, it is obvious that Kurt Angle will go over Booker T to gain momentum going into the title feud. However, WWE seems to be putting a lot of faith into Booker T lately, so it may end up in a DQ finish with Angle getting the win. No matter what, WWE is booking the match as an all-out brawl between the two men.

Paul London and Chavo Guerreo are scheduled to end their feud tonight. Billy Kidman is most likely going to attempt a run-in tonight as he has been an outside force in the storyline thus far. There is no word on who is to win the match yet, but everyone backstage is looking for this match to possibly be one of the better matches of the card.

The Eddie Guerrero-Rey Mysterio is also being talked about as stealing the show. Both wrestlers have put in a lot of time in this match, and have said that they want to make it better than their Halloween Havoc 1997 classic. It is no secret that they were both disappointed with how their Wrestlemania match ended up, and with Eddie & Rey always giving their 120% in matches, it should make for a possible match of the year contender tonight.

MNM is expected to win the titles easily over Harcore Holly & Charlie Haas. No push was given to the team other than a quick upset victory, and with MNM fresh off their Mysterio-Guerrero win, the team needs another win to solidfy themselves as a solid tag team. It is expected for MNM to hold their titles for a while and feud with the Dudleyz once they return.

The Carlito-Big Show match is expected to be a comical match, but also expected to set up Big Show vs. Matt Morgan for a future show, which WWE hopes will elevate Morgan to a new level. It is almost confirmed and common knowledge that Morgan will interfere in the match tonight.

Finally, the Orlando Jordan-Heidenreich match is expected to end in Jordan's favor. WWE has pland down the road to turn Jordan face and turn him against JBL, much like they did Virgil with DiBiase in the future. It may be a very gradual turn, but do not rule out the possibility of Jordan-JBL at Summerslam

DARK MATCH:

George King pinned Harry Smith.

VELOCITY TAPING:

The Basham Brothers defeated Teddy Hart and J.D. Michaels (a local HBKripoff for years, but very talented IMO) when Doug pinned Michaels. Teddy was limping badly after the match after landing on the outside diving and Danny.

Cruiserweight Champion Paul London beat Chavo Guerrero and Akio in a triple threat match after pinning Chavo.

U.S. Champion Orlando Jordan pinned Shannon Moore in a non-title match.

SMACKDOWN! TAPING:

Carlito's Cabana starts off with Carlito claiming that The Big Show will not be here due to last week's attack by Matt Morgan. Then the Cabana started with this week's guest, John Cena. Cena made fun of Matt Morgan, comparing him to Michael Cole. They talked about the draft and how this can be their last night together, therefore Cena announced that he went to Teddy Long earlier today and made a tag team match for tonight. Carlito and Morgan vs Cena and his partner who WILL be here before the night is over, The Big Show.

In a 15-minute match where the most falls scored wins, Tag Team Champions MNM defeated Hardcore Holly and Charlie Haas 2 falls to 1. Mercury pinned Holly to make it 1-0 and it was soon followed by Mercury pinning Haas after Haas was KO'ed after being thrown headfirst onto the ringpost after performing a plancha on Nitro. Haas pinned Mercury to make it 2-1. With 20 seconds left, Holly hit the Alabama Slam on Mercury but Melina ran in and distracted the ref long enough for the time limit to expire.

A backstage vignette was shown before the tag team match where Booker demanded that Sharmell be taken out of the match with Kurt Angle. Long said he couldn't do that but did change it to a handicap match with Booker and Sharmell against Angle.

Kurt Angle hit the ring to taunt Tazz. Angle explained how Tazz disrespected him when Angle appeared on an ECW event in 1996. They showed a clip from ECW Arena where Tazz said to Angle, "you may be a great amature, but I'm a great professional." Angle told Tazz that WWE made him a superstar, not ECW and invited him to join him and his SmackDown volunteers at ECW One Night Stand.

Angle beat Booker and Sharmell in a handicap match. The end came after a ref bump, Angle nailed Booker with chairshots. As he went to Sharmell, she tried to slap him but he reversed it into a rollup. Angle proceeded to mount on top of her and tried to kiss her but Booker got up and fought him off.

Heidenreich pinned Devon Nicholson (I think that's what his name was). He did the poem thing and the friend thing ...

Backstage vignette with Torrie, Joy, Michelle and Jackie interrupted by Mark Jindrak. They mentioned the draft and Jindrak said that if he stays on SD, he hopes to get new Divas because these ones were old.

JBL vs. Nunzio. JBL bad-mouthed ECW. He said all the brutal type of matches we have now is because of ECW. Talks about how Paul Heyman is a liar and how McMahon hand to lend him money because he is a bad business man. He then bad-mouthed Lance Storm, saying he couldn't sell out an arena if the tickets and beer were free. He said the only big thing Blue Meanie ever did was marry a porn star. He will not allow ECW to invade his hometown of New York and will join the crusade against ECW. He then asked Nunzio, "Hey Little Guido, how about we make this an ECW rules match." Nunzio grabbed a kendo stick and hit JBL and his cabinet members until JBL nailed him with a boot. Orlando Jordan and The Bashams held Nunzio as JBL nailed him with a hard kendo stick shot and followed up with a pin.

Booker T is shows backstage with Teddy Long, blaming him for what happened to Sharmell. Booker wants Angle next week in one of any two ways: legal or illegal. Long tells Booker that if he isn't drafted to RAW this Monday, he will have his match.

In the main event, John Cena and The Big Show beat Carlito and Matt Morgan. Show had his ribs and shoulder taped up. Cena hit the FU on Carlito for the pin. Cena then proceeded to celebrate in the crowd as the show went off the air.

DARK MATCH:

As Cena made his way back to the stage area, JBL and Orlando Jordan attacked him, leading to a handicap match. Cena pinned JBL after an FU.

Biggest pops: John Cena - Biggest heel heat: JBL

As of right now, no one on either roster (RAW or SmackDown) knows who is going where in this month's WWE draft lottery. Well, there are certain exceptions of course.

The SmackDown! brand does not have a house show tonight as they normally would, and have been told to be in St. Louis for RAW tonight live.

Someone from SmackDown! will be traded to RAW tonight in the first draft lottery trade, and will then be featured in an interview with Chris Jericho later on during RAW in the "Highlight Reel."

As we reported earlier, there is expected to be an ECW "invasion" angle of sorts, and we've been told to definitely expect involvment from The Sandman, who is at RAW right now, along with Tommy Dreamer and The Dudley Boyz.

As far as things go with Mick Foley right now, he is still only rumored for the upcoming ECW "One Night Stand" pay-per view. Originally, the plan was for Foley and Joey Styles to do the announcing for the show, but it is being reported now that it will be Styles and Tazz doing that. If Foley does come in to do commentary, many expect the current "Mick Foley" of today, and not the "Cactus Jack" that performed in ECW. Some had hoped for Foley to cut one of his dark promos that was really a big part of his little run with the company originally. No word on if that is still a working plan or not.

JT Smith, Tony Mamaluke, and Tracy Smothers were all apparently contacted by WWE to work the ECW PPV, but none are currently on the list of talent scheduled for the show, for whatever reason. Tracy Smothers mentions the date of the show on his website, so it would appear that the real FBI (Full Blooded Italians) will be at hand during the show in some form. The most likely scenerio would be for some of FBI guys to help Little Guido (aka Nunzio) in his triple-threat match scheduled for the PPV against Tajiri and Super Crazy.

Here is a current list of talent who worked and had a pretty big role in ECW, but isn't scheduled for the PPV: Terry Funk, Shane Douglas, Raven, Jerry Lynn, New Jack, Steve Corino, Mike Awesome, 2 Cold Scorpio, Francine, Beulah, Bam Bam Bigelow, The Eliminators (Saturn/Kronus), Ian Rotten, Miss Congeniality (Lita), Dean Malenko, Joey Mathews (Mercury), Steve Austin, Johnny Swinger, Jason, Tod Gordon, Chris Chetti, Mustafa, Johnny Grunge, Pitbull, Big Sal E., Tommy Rich, Tommy Rogers, Jack Victory, Brian Lee, Juventud Guerrera, Big Vito, Doug Furnas, Phil LaFon, Hack Myers.

The ECW "One Night Stand" pay-per view is live this Sunday, with a few matches still left unannounced. It is expected that about two or three more matches will be added before the card is finalized.

It is being reported in Japan that Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka has been added to Sunday's ECW "One Night Stand" pay-per view. Both guys were confirmed to work the show and have their history, so that one makes sense. It adds to a card already featuring Chris Jericho vs. Lance Storm, Little Guido vs. Super Crazy vs. Tajiri, Rey Mysterio vs. Psychosis, Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero, and Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman vs. The Dudley Boyz. Many special appearances and surprise guests are expected to show up in the Dudleyz/Sandman-Dreamer match.

Both Steven Richards and Spike Dudley, both of whom are injured badly, with Richards even having surgery scheduled 24 hours after the ECW PPV on Sunday, have both made the decision to work the event despite their injuries.

Alex Marvez has an article on the ECW show at shns.com, talking about the success he expects for the show. Marvez predicts "One Night Stand" will be the most watched "B" show of the year, even going as far as to predict 300,000 buys for the show.
