On June 19th in Richmond, Virginia at the NWA-VA show "Downtown Beatdown," the main event was scheduled to have Leilani Kai defend her NWA World
Women's Title against Kiley McLean. It was a huge step in Women's wrestling today as women are often regarded as novelty in the wrestling business.
Instead of making the appearance, Leilani no-showed perhaps one of her best matches of her careers and was forced to vacate the title. "She had
no-showed 2 title defenses before, and this was it," said NWA-VA promoter Rick O'Brien. It is really sad that even when women get treated as main
eventers, they still mess it up. The match was turned into a regular match, and moved out of the main event. Leilani Kai definitely made things a lot
harder for Women on the East Coast and in NWA.
