WWE: Konnan to the WWE?

Konnan is apparently working in TNA without a contract. He has been telling people that he plans to head over to the WWE in a couple weeks from now. There is also some talk of Eddie Guerrero being the one who is bringing him in to the WWE.

The problem is that Vince McMahon doesn't really like Konnan too much from something that happened a few years back. The only reason Vince would let Konnan in the WWE is because it's apparently a favor to Eddie Guerrero. Many feel that Konnan is not ready for a run in the WWE, however according to Konnan he will be going there to work something out in the next couple weeks.

Eddie Guerrero and Konnan both wrestled in Mexico around the same time period, they also wrestled in WCW in the same time period. They were both members of the WCW stable 'The Filthy Animals' from late 1999 to early 2000, right before Eddie left WCW.

Working without a contract in TNA means that he is under no obligation to continue working TNA shows for any certain amount of time. Him not having a contract with TNA means he is a free agent and that he can work pretty much anywhere he pleases. Konnan was a huge draw in WCW and is still a crowd pleaser in TNA.

Current NWA-TNA superstar Konnan was backstage at last night’s Judgment Day. There has been allot of speculation that Konnan will sign with the WWE as a favor to his old friend Rey Mysterio, however nothing has been confirmed yet. Konnan has been doing some wrestling announcing with TNA at the moment and earning about $500 a week. Konnan has been speaking to Rey and his other contacts within the WWE to try and bring him in the WWE as he is not earning enough money working for TNA.

Konnan is a former WCW superstar and current TNA wrestler. While backstage at Judgment day, Konnan was telling everyone that he was pushing for an announcer position. However many believe that it was just an act, and he is really wanting to get in a WWE ring.

A lot of people have been saying that it is Rey Mysterio who has been trying to get Konnan into the WWE. However, to shoot that rumor down, Rey has not been doing that at all. Mysterio has no pull in the issue, and it is Eddie Guerrero who has been pushing to bring in Konnan all the way. Eddie and Konnan wrestled both in WCW and Mexico together, and are said to have a very tight friendship.

Konnan himself has been telling people that he has agreed to a one year contract deal with World Wrestling Entertainment. As previously reported, he was pushing for an announcer position when he was backstage at Judgment Day. As of right now, he is going to play an announcer role. Although the specifics are unknown, it is expected that he would be doing backstage and in-ring interview type angles.

He apparently still wants to get in the ring, however does not feel that he is in the best physical shape to do so. As it stands right now, if things go well and Konnan gets back into shape, he could be used as a wrestler sometime down the line.

Konnan is leaving TNA on good terms, and there is no heat between the two sides over his departure to WWE.
