Brian 'Grandmaster Sexay" Lawler was fired from the WWE upon arriving to RAW last night. There is not many details on this other than the fact that Lawler showed up late to one of the RAW brand house shows this weekend and was warned by management. Lawler was told that if he showed up late again to a WWE event he would be fined. Lawler had previously been released by WWE in 2001 after being arrested in Canada and charged with possession of illegal drugs. He pleaded guilty to possession of coc aine.

To update the situation with Brian 'Grandmaster Sexay' Lawler, the word going around the locker-room at RAW was that he had been released upon his arrival to the show.

As we reported over the weekend, Lawler showed up to the 5/8 WWE house show in Lafayette, LA 15 minutes before the start time of the event. The agents talked to him about it and and told him that if it happened again he would be fined. That policy was enforced several months ago.

From what we have been told, the decision to release him came yesterday. It should still be noted though that Lawler's picture was listed for next week’s 20-man battle royal on RAW so this was obviously not a decision that was made very far in advance.

We have also just been told by several higher-ups in TNA that Lawler has already contacted them about new employment.

As of early this afternoon, WWE.com had not released an official statement regarding his release but Lawler is telling friends that he is gone from the company.

There seems to be a lot of confusion over the apparent firing of Brian 'Grandmaster Sexay' Lawler. To clear that up, his release has not yet been officially announced by the WWE. The news of his apparent firing is only word of mouth, most believed to be started by Brian Lawler himself.

As you all know, Brian "Grand Master Sexay" Lawler was fired from WWE, once again. He was scheduled to take part in next week's 20 man battle royal to determine the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Title at Bad Blood. Since his departure, Lawler's name has been removed and Maven's has taken his place.

Lately there have been many questions as to whether Grandmaster Sexay's release from WWE was drug related, but that is not the case. The general feeling among the whole situation is that he had not yet (or never will) learned lessons on how to handle himself backstage. He was said to be an extremely immature individual who is about 31 years old yet acts like a 15 year-old backstage.

Lawler was showing up late to several shows and embarrassed himself in front of many peers backstage to the point where Jerry Lawler, his father, was even embarrassed to be around him. WWE rehiring Sexay was more of a professional courtesy to Jerry Lawler, who lobbied for his re-hiring, and it was said to be a one-strike deal this time. Sexay took his strike and WWE did away with him.
