WWE: WWE cancels Confidential

Due to the terrible ratings the show has been getting, WWE has decided that it will cancel Confidential in the coming weeks. A few episodes may still air, but do note that the show will be removed from Spike's schedule soon.

One issue this brings up, however, is what WWE will put in the Saturday night/11PM slot. WWE's deal with Viacom requires them to produce a show for that timeslot, so they will have to come up with something.

WWE has not yet decided what the replacement show will be, but it is safe to say that WWE is getting closer and closer to the much-rumored ECW return in that timeslot. Depending on when Confidential is actually removed from the airwaves, WWE may have to run some filler shows first before determining on where they want to go with that slot.

Well i guess you might get your wish Ocelot and its looking like it will be the ecw.

Mick Foley: True. ECW had a unique cast of characters who seemed to thrive in that specific situation but have not felt the creative freedom to do so in WWE.

They basically went out of business and they were bought by WWE. Its a shame too since ECW was the best wrestling promotion in the United States in my opinion. The best matches I have seen in my life were all ECW matches.

As of right now the plan for Heyman long-term is that he will most likely establish a "renegade" group loaded up of ex-ECW talent, that will break away from the WWE name. The group may, or may not, be labeled "ECW".
