Brets Harts official website posted a note yesterday explaining his displeasure about the segment on RAW where Shawn Michaels said he had apologized Bret believed he hasnt.

However, Michaels did indeed apologize over the incident on Canadas Off The Record. The apology was not direct to Bret, but was made on National Canadian television.

-- As this report was being written, BretHart.com have added another statement:

To those e-mailing us saying that Shawn apologized to Bret on Confidential, Byte This and Off The Record - actually, no he did not. To say he is sorry that it had to come to that, or that he was a part of that, or sorry that it all had to happen is not an apology to Bret. In fact, on Confidential Shawn said he is NOT sorry and would do it again. Bret never asked Shawn or an apology anyway. And .... Bret or brethart.com did not bring any of this up and we wish they hadn't either. In fact we're sorry they can't seem to get over it.

Brief snapshot......

Brett agreed a contract to go to WCW but at the time was the WWE champion, Vince wanted him to drop the belt to HBK and although Brett wasn't happy as the two couldn't stand each other he agreed just not in Canada. During the Survivor Series main event, HBK put the Hitman in the sharpshooter and Vinny Mac told the timekeeper to ring the bell and declare HBK the winner by tapout. This wasn't scripted and was the biggest screw over of all time, HBK has always claimed he knew nothing about it. Brett wasn't happy and spat at Vince and then wouldn't leave the ring. He went onto WCW where the company managed to take one of the biggest wrestling talents who was in the prime of his career and do absolutely nothing with him (couldn't resist by anti WCW rant at the end!). I'll dig up a decent article so you can see the whole history behind it.
