Jake the Snake.

The dude was psycho and new how to work up the crowd and make them hate him.

Jimmy Superfly Snooka

Contemporary wrestlers still look to his style for inspiration.

Andre the Giant

No more an unlikely personality for wrestling, became perhaps the most fear and loved personality in the sport, ever.

Okay... old school. I appreciate the athleticism of Bret Hart... he's perhaps the last one that really cared about rasslin'... all the others are athletic actors... which is okay, but not like it was.

I agree. Jake was one of the best performers in wrestling history. He knew how to work the crowd and get inside your head. His promos are some of the best ever in the bussines. Too bad his inner demons and addictions eventually destroyed his career.

I haven't watched wrestling in years. I used to watch:

- Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
- Bob Backlund
- Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
- Ivan "Polish Power" Putski
- Jesse "The Body" Ventura
- Andre the Giant
- Tony Atlas
- Seargeant Slaughter
- Killer Khan
- The Iron Sheik
- Adrian "Goodnight Irene" Adonis
- "Captain" Lou Albano

Just shows how long ago that was, sometime in the 80's.

Have you read any of his books? He is a very entertaining writer and some of the stories are very funny.
