words of wisdom from Dicky V

There had to be a big smile on the face of Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany on Friday night!

Michigan State upset Duke, and Wisconsin rallied from a 30-21 halftime deficit to knock off NC State. What a glorious moment for Big Ten basketball, placing three teams in the Elite Eight. For much of this season, the Big Ten was assailed as a league of mediocrity. Friday night was a shining one for the league.

Dam, with all the upsets, I thought my brackets were dead. I picked some upsets, but they were the wrong ones
I only have 4 out of 8 in the elite eight, but the good new is that those 4 are my final four picks: Louisville, Kentucky, Illinois, and North Carolina. Louisville is in. What an awesome game with West Virginia!!! 18 three's or something like that!! WOW!! I was actually rooting for them. Sadly (and fortunately for my picks), Louisville is F**king tough!!! I can't believe that some people have picked almost every game correctly (in all of Yahoo)!!! Are they psychic or something? the only reason I'm doing well is LUCK!!!

without knowing everybody's picks, it's still anybody's game, with the 2 games today worth 8 points a peice, and next weekend's games worth 16 and 32 points...

But much will be decided after today's games.

:loudhorn: Go Big 10!

And then, as Illinois honk and good-luck mascot Bill Murray once said in "Stripes," depression set in.

This time -- and a dazed Illini coach Bruce Weber still isn't sure why he's headed to St. Louis and the Final Four -- it is Arizona taking the next flight home, courtesy of their U of I travel agents and, quite simply, a comeback for the ages.

Illinois' march to the arch was made possible Saturday evening by a 90-89 overtime win that belongs in the same team photo as Duke's NCAA Regional final victory against Kentucky 13 years ago. Sure, it lacked a Christian Laettner turnaround jumper at the buzzer, but not much else.

Saturday's games

Michigan State vs North Carolina

Illinois vs Louisville

I have to admit, this past weekend's games were some of the best that I can ever remember. 3 out of the 4 games to decide the Final Four went into overtime, and the two Saturday games, the winning team erased a double-digit second half lead to force overtime and win. How about that shot by Sparks for Kentucky as time expired? This has no doubt been a memorable tournament and the best could still be yet to come. Then again, I dont know how anything could top the games from this weekend. Man I love March Madness.

I am more than happy to be in 6th place, over the moon would be an understatement. If i end up in that position or any higher, then that would be fantastic.

your doing well TRD, you aint far behind 4th position so you can climb i guess. Gibbs had dipped a bit.

Me... i think the teams i picked up caused a database crash lol and just gave me any old points lol
