Greg Rusedski failed to reach his second consecutive Russian final when he lost 3-6 6-3 6-4 to Mikhail Youzhny in the semi-finals of the St Petersburg
Rusedski was in control of the first set from the off but the second set went with serve before Youzhny broke the Briton in the fourth game and held
on to take the match into a deciding set.
The Russian had the momentum and broke Rusedski to take the third game to reach his second final of the year where he will meet Slovakia's Karol Beck
who overcame seventh seed Michael Llodra, also in three sets.
Beck won 6-4 2-6 6-1.
