Play in the Davis Cup tie between Austria and Great Britain has been abandoned for the day.

Heavy rain in Portschach prevented the first match between Tim Henman and Stefan Koubek from getting underway.

Organisers now hope to play both singles rubbers and the doubles on Saturday, starting at 0830 BST.

However, both team captains can refuse to play the doubles if their singles players have had to play more than 45 games in the morning.

With no rain forecast for Saturday, tie referee Stefan Fransson remains hopeful that play will be possible over the weekend.
