Greg Rusedski opens the grass court season with a first-round match in the Surbiton Trophy event against Australian youngster Todd Reid, a repeat of
their only previous meeting in 2003 when the British number two had to come from a set down to win 4-6 6-2 6-1 on his way to the semi finals in
Now it is even more important the Canadian-born Rusedski hits winning form after another early and ignominious exit from the French Open in Paris last
week and all the anxiety of his successful fight to disprove a drugs claim against him.
Rusedski - who has dropped out of the world's top 100 - won probably his biggest ever battle, clearing his name in March of allegations that he used
an illegal substance to enhance performance.
Now on his comeback in Britain, building up to his latest shot at Wimbledon, he is seeded four for the Surbiton event behind Croatian giant Ivo
Karlovic, Slovakia's Karol Beck and Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei.
