While there's still a fair amount of confusion about whether Alonzo Mourning is going to show up when the Nets open training camp on Oct. 5, one thing
is growing increasingly clear.
Jason Kidd likely won't be there.
Citing multiple team and league sources, the New York Post is reporting that Kidd is not expected to return from off-season knee surgery until
December.
Nets GM Ed Stefanski told the paper Tuesday that no return date has been set for Kidd.
"Jason has been working out and rehabbing, doing all the doctors have prescribed," Stefanski said. "But there is no timetable for his return."
There also is no timetable for a deal, although Kidd has reportedly provided the Nets with a list of acceptable teams (the Mavericks, Lakers and
Timberwolves).
But if Kidd is going to miss the first two months of the season, it remains to be seen how much interest there will be in the All-Star point guard.
