Mavericks won't break up Big Three

The Dallas Morning News's Eddie Sefko reports that Mavericks coach Don Nelson isn't interested in dealing Steve Nash, Michael Finley or Dirk Nowitzki. Nelson said yesterday that "when you have three great players, you build around them. You don't get rid of them".

Unhappy Payton may not return

The Orange County Register's Kevin Ding reports that Lakers guard Gary Payton may be planning to "abandon ship". Payton is upset over his lack of playing time and could decide to opt out of his contract in the offseason.
