You mean a waiver?

In "sports tawk" it usually has something to do with the process of letting a pro sports club athelete be released to the minors ...I think....Or something along those lines...

Lemme see if I can find the actual definition and I'll post it...

Edit: Here we go...As per dictionary.com

"Permission for a professional athletic club to assign a player to the minor leagues or release a player from the club, granted only after all other clubs have been given the opportunity to claim the player and have not done so."

u try to get rid of a player by putting him on the market and he every team gets the option to sign him starting with the team with the worst record
