looks like jeremy shockey is facing surgery for an injury to his foot

Shockey May Undergo Surgery

Updating previous reports, Michael Eisen, of Giants.com, reports New York Giants TE Jeremy Shockey (foot) is currently weighing his options on how to fix his foot problems. One of those options is surgery, which would include inserting a screw into the affected bone in his foot. Shockey believes inserting the screw into his foot could prevent a more serious injury. Such a procedure would likely force him to miss the early part of training camp. Shockey sounds like he's going to have surgery done Monday, June 21, as he doesn't want to suffer a bigger problem during the season that forces him to miss time. "I don't want to miss any of the season, so I might as well get it done now and miss two weeks of training camp," Shockey said. Provided he undergoes the surgery, he's confident he'll be fine for the start of the season

When I read the title, I was hoping to find out it was surgery to stitch his lips together.
