Numerous NFL coaches may be dismissed after the season, but Marty Schottenheimer will not be one of them.

The San Diego Chargers announced on Tuesday that Schottenheimer, who has won 11 of 31 matches in two years with the team, will remain as the coach in 2004.

San Diego is tied with Arizona for the worst record in the NFL at 3-12. The Chargers host the Oakland Raiders in their season finale on Sunday.

Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga already knows whether or not he's going to keep Dave Wannstedt as the team's head coach. Wannstedt will find out Monday or Tuesday.

Looks like three were fired the day after disappointing seasons ended with losing records. McGinnis was released by the Arizona Cardinals after going 4-12. The Buffalo Bills let go of Williams after a 6-10 record, while the Chicago Bears dismissed Jauron, who was 7-9 this season.

Who's next?

ONe of the seven head coach openings has been filled. The Giants have agreeded in principle with Tom Coughlin for a four year contract. Couglin could help the Giants regain the playoff team that they are capable of becoming.

Only a fool would coach the Raiders. I am a hardcore Raider fan,but I can't imagine anyone wanting to work for Al Davis. Even his longtime GM went to Tampa.

Well Nick Saban said no to the idea of coaching the Chicago Bears, now they have their sights set on Lovie Smith.

Lovie Smith is the Rams defensive coordinator..

Also in the running is Steelers assistant Russ Grimm to be their next coach.
