For the second straight round, the Seattle Seahawks addressed their defence, selecting Arkansas free safety Ken Hamlin with the 42nd pick.

The Seahawks ranked 28th in total defence and have made it a priority to improve that side of the ball.

In his final collegiate season, Hamlin was a finalist for the Thorpe Award, given to the nation's top defensive back. He set a school record with 159 tackles as a junior.

The Seattle Seahawks signed sixth-round draft choice Rashard Moore to a multiyear contract Wednesday.

Moore, a defensive tackle from Tennessee, was the 183rd player taken in this year's draft. He made 95 tackles for the Volunteers, including 41 his senior season.

He was the third draft pick signed by the Seahawks.

Seattle Seahawks middle linebacker Orlando Ruff will miss three to four weeks with a strained right knee ligament.

Ruff suffered the injury in the second quarter of Seattle's 20-7 pre-season win over the San Diego Chargers on Saturday.

Ironically, Huff spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Chargers, starting 35 games, before signing with the Seahawks in the close season.

After ranking last in the NFL against the run, yielding 152.6 yards per game, the Seahawks signed a pair of middle linebackers - Ruff and Randall Godfrey, who was waived by Tennessee.
