The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed veteran Chris Doering to add depth to their wide receiving corps.

Doering, who was 30 on Monday, spent last season with the Washington Redskins, catching 18 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games.

The move to Pittsburgh is the fourth team in as many seasons for Doering.

He also has played with Indianapolis and Denver and has 24 receptions for 236 yards and two TDs during his career.

He sounds like a suitcase player, four teams in four years. Pittsburgh already has two outstanding WR's in Hines Ward and Plaxico Burress. Doering is a good option for three WR sets.

I'm always sceptical of journeyman players, but he will give them another option.
