None of this would have happened if Ed Wade was fired earlier than when he was, he's the reason that Wagner isn't a phillie

Well, they've signed Tom Gordon to take over on the closing duties. Will he fill in adequately? He hasn't acted asa a closer for 4 years!

the Mets must have tapped into the Yankees unending money supply this year!!! is this the year that they finally buy a winner?

The mets, while not a good team, have an almost limitless supply of money for the simple fact that they are in New York, everyone that's not a Yankees fan is a Mets fan, and they have a population of what 8 million so they probably have 2 million fans in the city alone. I don't know that a closer will buy them anything though, they still have to get by Atlanta, and after the last couple years of piecing together more division titles, i'm not betting against them until they lose.

what does it matter if they sign one of the best closers in the league now if they can't get to the point at where they would be able to use them
