The Department of Defense, which monitors ortibal space with radar for surprise missile launches, tracks the movements of thousands of pieces of debris from old satellites and rocket launches in orbit around the Earth.

the guy monitoring was to busy with his turkey...

Probably need to let the 'dog' back in........

Seriously though, lets hope it was nothing more than micro-meteorite.

It could have been a random stray meteor or asteroid fragment.

Maybe Michael Jacksons chimp, Bubbles, was abducted by aliens and thrown at the international space station.

It was probably just a bunch of space junk. I don't think aliens come knocking on astronauts doors!

I'd wager debris, theres thousands of pieces of space junk orbiting the planet from previous space missions.

"NASA said that later, after conferring with Russian crewmate Alexander Kaleri, Foale said the sound was more like piece a sheet metal being flexed."

Maybe a thinner piece of sheet metal hit the I.S.S., flexed spring like, and shot away. lol
