It was just a matter of time before Alex Rodriguez and the New York Yankees snapped out of it -- at least for a day.

A-Rod became the youngest member of the 400-homer club and a change in their routine got the Yankees back on the winning track with a 12-3 rout of the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night.

Rodriguez's two-run shot off left-hander Chris Capuano in the first inning was his 399th, and his solo shot off left-hander Jorge De La Rosa in the eighth made the 29-year-old third baseman the 40th player in major league history to reach 400 homers.

Hpefully he doesn't get the injury bug like Griffey did. his enourmous contract aside (it's not the size that counts..), he seems like an overall good guy.

Hard to believe you guys never won a title when you had Arod, Griff, and Randy Johnson and Edgar Martinez.

looking back, especially at the 95 "refuse to lose" team and the 2001 team that won 116 games it seems like we should have at least made the world series a time or two, i think that those teams put so much into the regular seasons that they were emotionely drained by the time the post season rolled around

Griffey cried his way out of town. Wanted to leave, hated Safeco. What did Arod do wrong? Seattle offered 5 years 95 mil. Atlanta offered 172 mil, Texas 252 mil. Only a fool would take 95 mil over 252 mil. Seattle needed to pony up more.

As a Seattle fan, i respect Arod. Griffey whined his whole career here.

As far as why didn't Seattle win with Arod, Griffey, RJ, Edgar. Simple. Their bullpen was the worst in bb. They had to win 8-7. A 5 run lead was never safe.

i agree completely with all the pro arod posts, but if pujols keeps pace he may surpass arods probable stats, he could also have most rbis

pujols doesn't have the baserunning skills or defensive skills that A-ROD has
