Several members of Major League Baseball's relocation committee met with political and business leaders in Portland, Ore., on Tuesday to discuss
financial plans for the proposed construction of a new ballpark that could become home to the Montreal Expos.
Committee members are also planning to meet with groups in Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia within the next 10 days. The goal is to work toward
a recommendation regarding the immediate future of the Expos to Commissioner Bud Selig this summer, perhaps in time for the July 15 All-Star Game at
Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field, home of the White Sox.
