The site that I had checked at first had John Clarkson, at 942 IP, but his innings were added to because it was a simuation of a 162 game season or something. You were right.

that's all right. but 942 innings would be huge, how did they figure that? did they take the number of innings he pitched and carry them out through a 162 game season? that is alot of pitching considering today's pitchers don't usually make the 250 mark today. amazing what they could do back then, but they didn't throw 100 mph either.

He only played in a hundred or so game season and pitched 630 innings or so. They estimated for a 162 gamer.

Why is it they only use them for that short a time?

I think they just get scuffed up form the dirt and the umps gets rid of them.

They lose a ton of foul balls in the stands.

Usually the player that makes the last out tosses the ball to a fan.

well i hadn't heard it broken down to pitches but i had read that it was 1/3 of an inning, so unless you suck as a pitcher 7 pitches sounds about right. i'll be working on some new trivia this week, i finally finished my game and can get back to the sportztawk full time. off to do some research.

Well they have me stumped, i can't believe that you can hit 3,000 and not get walked. I checked all the 3,000 club and they all have tone of walks.

reread the question, it's Intentional Walks not regular walks.
