Palestinian officials: Hamas may suspend suicide attacks

By Reuters

CAIRO - Islamic militant group Hamas has discussed a possible one-year halt to suicide bomb attacks during talks in Cairo with Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction, Palestinian officials said Monday.

In the talks, which began Saturday in an effort to iron out tensions between the two sides in their fight against Israeli occupation, the sides are discussing whether Hamas will participate in Palestinian presidential and parliamentary elections set for January, the officials told Reuters.

Sounds like they are just taking a break to re-group.

But you never know what can happen in a year.

Guess you didn't notice the smilely face at the end of my last sentanceThat was positive thinking.A lot of things can happen in a year.Who knows what could happen if Hamas lays off for a year.It is possible so sort of peace could be arranged, and make suicide bombings unpopular with everyone.
