Oh we all knew they'd approve it anyway.

U.S. Senate approves bill containing landmark Medicare prescription drug plan. Details soon.

Ted Kennedy won't be happy

Do you support it or not?

(CBS/AP) The Senate on Tuesday approved the most sweeping changes to Medicare since its creation 38 years ago, adding a long-sought prescription drug benefit and a contentious experiment with private competition.

Passage of the $395 billion bill was secured by a 54-44 vote.

A major victory for President Bush, the vote capped years of wrangling over the drug benefit, and days of legislative maneuvering by Democrats hoping to block the compromise bill.

Think my views on this one are way overstated. But, I must reply.

If Mr. McCain doesn't like a bill you know it's bogus and full of pork products. He's the one to trust when it comes to being fiscally conservative. As soon as he said he wasn't supporting it that gave weight to all the things the dems were saying about the HMO and corporate give-a-ways. The GOP has dug themselves another whole. People are sick of corporate welfare.

Most of the elderly folk won't even switch over because the lil bit of relief they offer isn't worth loosing medicare. Seniors like medicare they just wanted some drug cost relief...but congress went off the deep end and started spending like there was no tomorrow and at this rate there won't be one.
