I never said that I was never into Quebec, see my past postings for clarification.

I mentioned my brother because he was there recently as I have not been to Montreal for several years.

He liked Montreal but felt it was not nearly as active as Toronto is economically speaking.

As for surrendering, I recall that Americans surrender pretty easily too. Most recently, Jessica Lynch? Sure, she may not have had an option, but it's rather hypocritical to call the French "surrender monkeys" when the average American citizen would probably surrender immedietely to a foreign invader. Unless you're a soldier, that is.

you froget that it was the FRENCH ARMY, a "professional" army, that surrendered not the civilians of france. the resistance did more damage to the germans than the regular french army. and you froget about all the rednecks we have that would kick out any forigen invader. not to mention all the people in the US that own assult weapons.

And for the record, France bore the brunt of WW1. They had the most losses- militarily, economically, ect. Basically, when WWII came around, the french were still trying to rebuild.

But why did Canada have to bow down to Quebec's desires just cause Chretien is a Quebecer? A lot of people outside Quebec supported the idea of the US going into Iraq and their voices were ignored by Chretien.

Quebec is not a country yet, if it desires to be one, I have no problem with this.

France MIGHT have stood a chance against Germany if they had invested their money in the military instead of wasting it all on the Maginot Line. They were worried about the Germans invading again, but they were thinking trench warfare, not paratroopers and mech infantry.

By the way, one thing I do have about France is the food....eww. That nasty cheese...

THENEO if you remember, the last time Quebec had a referendum, they stated that they also wanted Canada to keep on paying them even after they left which made a lot of people really pissed. And the Canadians from BC who went there, were beaten up for trying to calmly show how they wanted them to stay, a peace protest if you will, in fact they were extremely pleasant. And they got beat up for it, even older people there which made headlines, i remember it well.

The canadian One Dollar Coin is called a Looney ~ it's got a picture of a Loon on it "a bird". The 2 Dollar Coin is called the Toonie.

Neo you should realize the evantuality that it was not Québec's will but the entire Canada will to not get in that war, you're putting the fault on the wrong dude, a lot of peoples here were for that war, but bush acted like if we were his personnal puppy... Québec will be a country when BC and Alberta will be one, so in simple words, never. I know that in the past Ontario backed Québec but right now it's the inverse.
