Might I point out to you that in your messaging beginning this thread, there is far more screen realestate devoted to "Tyler and his signature" than the actual content of your post. While I'm sure the narcissistic posters among us will enjoy such a ratio, are you indeed one of them?

And Mr.Sceptic before your came into the powers of ATS everything was fine. I used my avatar for about half a year and no complains have ever been registered.

Do you understand that everyone received this request? And the world does not revolve around you. Your avatar was not the spark that ignited this idea (though I can't understand why it's 200k).

Perhaps it might help your knee-jerk reaction to know that this topic has been often discussed by the moderators, for quite some time. Also, the wording of the message was discussed by the moderators before posting.

You might like to know that most online discussion forums maintain a pretty strict 50x50 and 25k size limit on avatars, an no images at all in signatures. By the standards described as the "online norm" I think we're very accomodating. But, as we now see, it's impossible to please everyone.
