It really depends on what you mean by the severity of an EMP burst. If you mean on a LOCAL scale, small enough to disrupt certain operations at a
facility, then there is a slim chance of that happening, however, on a broad scale, there is no chance whatsoever. Well I should say it would work a
little too well, and here is why: If an EMP burst went off, and it was widespread, we'd all be in deep doo-doo right now. Even with electricity,
nothing in those cities would work ever again, because EMP bursts destroy electronics. Cars would stop working, forget about computers, lightbulbs,
fridges . . . Nearly everything we rely on. If it was EMP, we would definitely know about it. BTW, I am surprised EMP has not been used as a weapon
yet, unless I have missed something.

I'd figure it was maybe some sort of tactical-scale EMP test gone wrong, because it's a perfect place to test it- upper new york, in a small town.
It would show how American citizenry would react to total loss of power. Unfortunately, the EMP burst was greater than expected (or something) and hit
a power plant, and from there we all got screwed. What do you all think?
