I did not pick it because it was too big. It can only land at air fields with big runways. (Dont type in caps). That is also why I do not like the big Russian trasports. They are too big for their own good.

First of all I was quoting the other shatter guy who typed in all caps.

Second of all he said that c-5 is the biggest plane and I proved him wrong.

An-225 Cossack Achievements
Portions of a second An-225 have been built, but to this day only one has ever flown -- breaking numerous records.
The An-225 is the largest aircraft in the world; with a wingspan of 290 feet and a length of 275 ft 7 inches.

An-225 Cossack Background
The An-225 Cossack holds the current world record for the largest aircraft in the world, yet has never gone into full production and probably never will. The An-225 is a six-engine development of the An-124 designed to carry the Soviet 'Buran' space shuttle on its back. A new central wing section with two more engines was inserted, twin tail fins were fitted, the landing gear was reinforced and dorsal attachment points were added. The Buran program was abandoned, and the An-225 has been grounded. The first An-225 prototype flew on 21 December 1988.

It was the biggest but know it is not flown so it deosnt count.

But yes it is the biggest and it does look VERY nice!

Sorry to blow the bubble!

An-124 was created in the tradition of An-22 to be the largest transport aircraft in the world. It is larger than the C-5B Galaxy, but smaller than the An-225 Mriya (NATO named Cossack) which carries the Russian space shuttle. The first prototype (SSSR 82002, Number 318) flew on December 26, 1982. The wings are high-mounted, swept-back, and tapered with curved tips and negative slant. Four turbofans are mounted on pylons under the wings. The fuselage is a thick oval in cross-section with a rounded nose and tapering to the rear. The tail fin is swept-back and tapered with rounded tips. Flats are swept-back, tapered, and mid-mounted on the body.

Quote from people looking at this plane:

Officer one: "Hey, is that a transport up there?"
Officer two: Squinting. "No, look carefully, its just assorted dirt, shrubbery, and a few trees that are flying."
Officer one: "Oh, ok. Don't shoot down the flying foliage guys!"

An-124 and 225..

There is no doubt about it..

Even US and NATO rent theirs services for operations..

From Russians..

An-225 with Buran..

The US military chartered this Ukrainian Antonov An-225 - world's largest plane - to transport food and supplies for the US troops in Afghanistan. This was the first commercial use of this giant aircraft originally developed for the Soviet space program to transport the space shuttle Buran.

AC-X Replacement Gunship:
www.globalsecurity.org...

Small article:
"In late December 2001 a Department of Defense Program Budget Decision (PBD) called for purchasing at least eight additional AC-130U Spooky gunships, and initiating work on a possible replacement gunship aircraft. The PBD added funding to accelerate and fully fund an Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration for the AC(X) aircraft. The AC(X) could be either a further upgrade to the existing AC-130 an entirely new follow-on system. A formal procurement program for the AC(X) was expected to begin in Fiscal Year 2005 (FY05).

Special operators want the new gunship, or AC-X, to be much smaller than a C-130, with fewer crew members. They want it to be stealthy, with the speed and maneuverability of a long-range jet fighter. They want it equipped with directed energy weapons and non-lethal technologies, and it should be able to engage targets from any angle-above and below, front and back."
