Barack Hussein Obama (born August 4, 1961)
is the junior U.S. Senator from Illinois.
According to the U.S. Senate Historical Office, he is the fifth
African American Senator in U.S. history and the only
African American presently serving in the U.S. Senate.
Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama Sr.
of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya,
and Ann Dunham of Wichita, Kansas.

His parents met while both were attending the East-West Center
of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where his father was enrolled
as a foreign student.

When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced and his father
returned to Kenya. His mother married Lolo Soetoro,
an Indonesian oil manager, moving to Jakarta with Obama when
he was six years old. Within six months he had learned to speak
the Indonesian language.

This gentleman will be receiving my vote , if he is nominated
and not only do I feel he is gualified.......He seems to have a mind!

Don't you feel that this man brings much to the table?
He not only studied at a Muslim school
but also at a Catholic one.At this time , more than any other,
don't you feel that we need someone who has studied
International Relationsand can bring undestanding to the White House?

Our world seems to be standing at a preface in history.
I want the best man or woman gualified for the job.

Don't you think he deserves a second look......
Not based on his wardrobe..skin color
or he carries the name of his father,
which in 1961 was a perfectly acceptable name???

Not everyone will be as "enlightened" when casting thier vote.

the fact that he attended Muslim school
That he has never held an executive office.
The fact that his mother married an Indonesian (another muslim connection).
That his middle name is Hussein..

Those will all be driven into the brains of the voters, and he will be anti-marketed by his rivals.

As good as he sounds..He can't win..maybe it's too bad..Maybe not.

The only thing Obama has going for him is that he has no history as an executive and only a minimal track record as a legislator. His having studied in both muslim & catholic schools doesn't do much for me. Using this logic, any college graduate with no political baggage and a background in comparative religions is qualified to be president.

If you just want to vote for somebody different that you know nothing about, DF1 For President.

An intriguing candidate perhaps, an ok junior senetor maybe - but not presidentially-qualified - not by a long shot.

Nice try pumping your favorite, Ex - but I'm on the fence until mid-'08 at least. So far, Obama has not said much about what he'll do to make things better for everyone (and not just for Obama).

To date, there at least 1/2 dozen MUCH better qualified candidates who have already declared they're running that I would vote for...

Good luck...

Outrageo,
I really didn't mean it as a pump of my favorite.
Maybe I am just seeing him put through the media
political wringer so unfairly.I do agree he is very inexperienced
But then if experience produced a GWBUSH.
then maybe the lack of would do much better

Wolf Blitzers comment was so out of line yesterday
