SpeakerofTruth, I see what you're saying. But there are many stories that have withstood the test of time that were based on fictional characters. Jesus could have been a fictional character. Religions have been formed on a LOT less.

There may be other stories, but can you truly say that they have become anything like the phenomenon that is Christianity.

Give me a friggin' break, we're talking 20 centuries here.

Humble, with all due respect, there are religions that still exist that far pre-date Christianity. So that's really not a very compelling comment that you made..

I've heard of it, but I don't think he swore.

All I know is that I was raised in a very religious home and my mother would have slapped me for talking like you do. It just seems out of integrity for a Christian to swear, in my opinion, angry or not.

I don't think you're angry so much at any kind of attack on Jesus as you are angry that everyone doesn't agree with you.

atheism is now a form of christianity?

i was just saying, it is not an attack on christianity to have jesus as a mythical figure

so what if jesus didn't exist, the point in your religion is that god would come down from heaven to save you from sin

it's a redemption religion

@ speaker

you're telling me there's 2 billion Hindus?

Christianity is the largest with 2 billion, and Islam second with 1 billion

Benevolent, I think what Humble means is that it would be more miraculous that Christianity had formed without the figure of Christ than what it would be if Christ had actually existed.

Exactly, thank you speaker.

As I suspected, you're angry that people don't believe the same as you do. Thanks for admitting it.

And so what if Christianity is the most popular religion? What's your point? You're in the "in" crowd. So what? I'd rather think for myself, thank you.

Well,I said that..now I came across information that states Hinduism is the third largest...

Benevolent,I hate to say this, but the is the operation of most "Christians" and Muslims... They condemn those who don't believe exactly as they do.. Like I have said, I am Christian in the sense that I believe in Christ, but after that, I and most "Christians" part ways.

"Do what thou wilt" sound like your philosophy, which is cool, i guess.

And yes, Christianity is the most popular, that is because people have accepted the truth and have found what there eternal purpose is, Have you found yours?

honestly, without the true existence of the main figure of a religion (in this case jesus) it wouldn't be surprising that it garners a 2 billion person following

especially considering the various forms of enforcement over the years

and, since i'm an atheist, it isn't that crazy for me to think a religion centered around a fictional character is plausible
