A tank flying through the air and firing at the same time!

sure looks impressive.

I doubt you could hit anything doing that.

You doubt anything that is Russian...

Russian,

no offense but once a gun loses its stability it would have trouble hitting anything, unless it is shooting a missile with a guidance system in it etc.

even when they show a tank shooting a distant target with assistance of a second laser guided positioning device the tank is always fixed to its position.

this is all academic anyways. I am not sure that tanks will be a big factor in future wars anyways.

theneo, tanks will always be a part of battle in the near future.

But I think even when they might not be used they will always be made, because they are proven and reliable.

tanks are the future to war...

if not then what is...?

Russian,

good question, the future of war?

I have a feeling that airpower will get more and more important.

Submarines will be very important as well as aircraft carriers. Battleships NO. Smaller faster ships with advanced weapons will be in.

Army will have robots and many more different types of vehicles (especially fast and able to traverse varied terrain), and probably use a lot of drone aircraft too.

but who am I to say, I am no expert.

Tanks are the best way to pack a mobile reliable punch....
they have big guns, and are highly mobile

Maybe tanks or a new type of tank?

I see in future where speed and invisibility and precision will be most important. It will not matter how big the bang is when you are faster and more precise than the enemy.

yea, perhaps you are right, theneo

what you say makes sense

I disagree...

cause if there is a small gun that pricise it will take alot of hits to stop a tank...

but i will agree that the tanks are going toward faster, better manverablity, and strong guns...

also they could just stay with the 140mm but make the charge fly faster thus have more percing volicity.

sorry for my spelling...

i still think challenger 2 is best

Leopard 2A6 EX is.

And Challenger comes somewhere after T-80/90s and US M1/M1A1/M1A2.. (Maybe even after LeLerc..)

Challengers are fine, but they are far from the best.
(But their crews are top of the line.. like all UK armed forces.. at least UK tankers are better than US ones..)

Well thats your opinion because I read day in day out that the challenger 2 is the most reliable tank in the world with the best standard armor period.

Hell even discovery channel knows it.

It is brittish tank..

Im trying to be nice here but:

All the most #ed up tanks have come from UK.

All the best tanks from Germany and Russia..

And this 'theory' still hold water.

And wtf has Discovery channel has to do with anything?

Its program are so 'low-tech' (are made for idiots..) that in where i live, it would be an insult to even show those programs to little kids.

Was it at this topic that i talked about how USA is spying on Leopards and trying to take over that Spannish factory?

Here:

Spain has ordered 219 Leopard 2A6. The first 30 are being built by KMW, the rest will be license-built in Spain by General Dynamics, Santa Barbara Sistemas (GDSBS).

Looks like they were successful..

(takes deep breath and then releases slowly..........)

www.vickersdefence.co.uk...

Key phrase in the read here is "features that make the Challenger the worlds most reliable and technically advanced main battle tank"

On a second note when trying to cream some one or make them feel bad. Please to use statements that are relevant to topic.

Example u saying something about Britain releasing some "not really up to scratch tanks in the past" well what the hell was that all about. because I know deep down in my heart that I was talking about the challenger 2 series tanks and not other past tanks of Britain.
