Again the old chestnut of accuracy...knowledge about the history of the production of AK47 would clue you on to why AK47s had less accuracy per batch of rifles than the M16.

The AK47 was hurriedly mass-produced, with tools and equipment that were inferior to those used in the production of the M16...the rifling machines were notorious for flaws due to the lathe-bearings being slogged out in part due to their age and lack of maintanence, but more due to the endless production/usage and not taking time to change them out to keep the rifling true. The actions were fine, the barrel setting again had flaws due to the age and lack of maintanence of the machinery. Americans had better machines, better maintanence schedules and made LESS of the rifle in question...so percentage of 'duds' were substantially less.

However...I have used a number of AKs which were produced after the inital 'mad rush' period of AK production...AKs that were machined with better tools, better equipment...and I can assure you there is little to quibble about when it comes to a well-machined AKs accuracy...scope it, put it in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing and anything moving is history, just like a 16. The later production AKs are fantastically accurate...maybe because they were produced with similar machinery used in the production of the Druganov...perhaps one of the best robust, accurate sniper-application semi 'assault-rifles' around.

I see your point alien but there's a lot of ameliorated version of the m16 too.
