the NWO is coming to a city near you. the council in my city passed the "bad behaviour bylaw" (tax grab) means if you spit in public or piss or poo or fight or stuff like that and the cops see you they have the right to fine you $100 bucks.

next theyll be taxing how much air we breath in and if we breath too much air theyll add interest on that. maybe someday ill move.

Freedom? ... your rights? .. did the constitution say we are allowed to spit where ever we want lol.. I must have missed that bit eh?

Stupid law, yes. Against your rights? Read the constitution and try and understand it. Spitting is can be a health hazard let alone disgusting. Should there be a law for it? No. . thats just a waste of tax payer money.. but there are alot of dumb laws on the books that are not enforced. Fighting has always been against the law? And no, the constitution does not protect damaging and obscene behavior.. Pissing and other bodily functions? .. You want to be able to piss in the streets? What the hell man. I know around here you get fined more then a measly $100.. and you have to go buy a bottle of water to clean where you urinated.

Spitting in the street is actually contributing to the spread of disease.

I personally do NOT like being near men (yes a male habit... no I do not hate men) that sniff, hack and spit out globs of mucous on the pavement in front of me.

Just the sound of the action is enough to make me want to chuck.

It is just plain filthy and shows a total lack of respect for others...has nothing to do with taking away our rights. If fines help alleviate this unhealthy practice then I'm all for it.

For those that think it is ok to do this I ask you...Can I sneeze in your face ??

Man spits on public bench
Man has serious viral infection
Mother and child sit on bench, get it on their clothes/hands
Man dies from infection 2 weeks later
Mother and child follow suit after spreading infection to large family unit.

public spitters

I heard the spitting on the sidewalk law has been around for decades. Just never enforced.

As far as taking a leak in public. In Massachusetts, you can be charged with indecent exposure and that could lead to you registering as a sex offender.

I hocked a loogey out my car window this morning on the highway...wonder if a State Cop could have pulled me over...

Most places those laws have already existed for quite some time. I doubt that any cop is going to fine you for spitting. but if they catch you taking a no 2 then heck yea there gonna whip out the fine book. Course that only leaves one use for the newly obtained piece of paper.

I wonder if soon will be a law against going on public while under the weather . . . after all when you are sick with a cold you have running nose, chest congestion and occurs have the need to clear your breathing passages.

The next time you have bronchitis and have to spit the junk . . . I guess you will have to swallow it back.

Also how about allergies, will it be a law against sneezing in public also?

How about people that spray when they talk, will they have to wear mask all the time?

I find the whole thing stupid and incredibly childish.

Soon any type of human contact will be banned in public also they way things are going.

Now urinating in public that is something that men usually can get away with . . . more than women.

I think we should have a law to force everybody to wear bio hazard suits and face mask.

And for the sake of all this about us as human and our human traits no about freedoms those has been taken away a long time ago.

That is why we have stupid laws.

People who have a cold or flu can always spit into a tissue or handkerchief...not just spit and leave a mess on the pavement.

I'm going to take the side of the NWO ( ) and agree with them.

There's no excuse on God's green earth why anyone should have to put up with someone tossing a lungie for all to see.

How revolting....If he were my employee i'd fire him
....... If he were my husband i'd divorce him.

Some of you act as if you have never freakin had to spit before. This law is beyond stupidity. However, why be surprised? We live in a very unintelligent society that adheres to the rules of the village idiots.

I agree that it's a stupid law, and I agree that things such as this shouldn't need to be legislated, but I don't see what the big deal is. Spitting, urinating, and defecating in public is not only nasty, it's also a great way to spread disease and cause infections. I don't want to have to worry that the pavement my child falls and scrapes a knee on may have recently been spit and urinated all over. I don't want to have to worry that if he picks something up of the ground it may have recently been spat, urinated, or defecated on. Children touch things and then put their hands in their mouths. What on earth is wrong with fining people for doing things like this that could cause serious health problems? Or perhaps we should just go back to the days when we used chamber pots and just dumped all our body waste into the streets. The health and wellbeing of the people was just so much better in those days.

Money is a terrible form of transmission for disease and I'd advise anyone who handles it as part of their work to use gel disinfectants as a regular habit.

But spitting has always been a problem too...

Social habits
Although there are currently no proven incidences of Avian Flu transmission through humans, unhygienic social habits, eg. spitting or passing of human excretion, coughing/sneezing loudly and indiscreetly, in public, should still be heavily discouraged, with fines imposed if possible (like in Singapore where fines were imposed on casual spitting during the 2003 SARS scare), as it is usually through these uncouth habits when people get in contact with bodily fluids of others where viruses are widely transmitted. Other habits like sharing of food and drinks should also be discouraged as these will serve as means through which the virus can be easily transmitted

-and-

The amazing fact that tubercle bacilli could survive in spit for an entire day convinced many ladies to stop wearing their long, trailing dresses into town for fear they might pick up sputum and drag TB into their homes. Many communities outlawed spitting in the streets and on the floors of shops, theaters, and taverns and required managers of public gathering spots to have spittoons available for their guests. Newspapers, street signs and bulletin boards carried warnings against “the filthy habit:”

That's not a reason to say it's ok to spit, urinate, and defecate on the street, sidewalk, or any where else deemed a public place. That merely points out that people should wash their hands after handling money.
