American Gangster Web Site (BET)

BET's new documentary series takes a look at the life and times of notorious Black criminals.

I've seen two episodes.. the first one I seen was about Stanley 'Tookie'.. but the latest one was the most interesting..

Name: "Freeway" Ricky Ross
Reign: 1980’s
Business: Crack
Region: South Central L.A.
Sentence: 18 yrs.
Status: Imprisoned

The story of Ricky Ross includes quite the picture of the CIA...... A must see show.

Was Ricky Ross a pawn in an international drug ring, or was he the mastermind?

Its an amazing thing to see the CIA get bashed on TV, granted not toooo many people watch BET.... (Some what of a racist bias?) .. thats another thread.. but anyway..

American Gangster: 'Freeway' Ricky Ross

Ricky Ross didn’t invent crack coc aine, and he wasn’t the first to market it. But once he got started, Ross became the most famous dealer in south central L.A., eventually expanding his base into a coast-to-coast conglomerate that sold a half-million rocks a day. His illicit operations eventually shed grim light on the policies of local police, the CIA, and the administration of President Ronald Reagan.

Its a very informative show... More people should tune in....

Don't Miss It Tuesdays @ 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on BET.
