Halliburton practically control's the supply at this point and can tax us even more on our gas by jacking up prices. But why no body is going to stop them is because we are busy ourselves and we don't profit if we go against them.
We were born to go out and make a profit and this would redirect us from our own lives and thus Halliburton is great. And since business's are going global.

Cheney doesn't care about "America" it's just an idea. In today's society we are globalized and that mean's globalism and global management. The Cheney family and crew are practically setting themselves up for life and for their offspring to be instantly rich. It's a way of becoming kings and queens amoung the world.
And how has Cheney achieved this glorious victory? By convincing the people who live in the "idea, as they put it" or "America" that they are fighting for "America's beliefs of freedom and democracy" and at the same time they are doing this, they are doing it with the mentality that they can just use America as their army to expand and take over a maker oil reserve in the middle east, and at the same time they still call us an "Idea" which makes us nothing, useless, something that we think of now but will be gone tommorrow.
Why because we the people have left the republic send us into war's that benefit corporation's and for year's we have been told by people in our government to by arm's and bomb's and send em over to other parts of the world. Then trillion's go missing from the defense budget.
Something so top-secret (example scenario: Isreal takes money to further defense and offensive spending hoping to outdue Iran. I don't know much about Halliburton but if they got one oil reserve succesfully, not to mention the pipeline coming from their OTHER war with afghanistan. They are nationbuilding or in their case OIL-PIPELINE-building. Because once u control the oil reservers of the world... you have won.

another thing i'd like to point out about having a republic: If the republic becomes corrupt, you, youre children and your family will all be under the rule, of a corrupt republic. They don't rule you under the constitution, they rule you above and beyond the constitution. They own your soul.

The American public has no time to do anything about it because they are too busy working to gain the one extra penny so they can buy one extra crumb of bread to feed their family with tonight. As for the "elephants" as you put it their counterparts are no better. They are both two sides of the same coin. Finally I need to remark on the Halliburton settup: they are not the only ones who rule the nation.

There certainly is a hegemony of corporate consumerism dictating sub-conciously and otherwise what constitutes reward and punishment.

The medieval mind thought worship of Mary on par with Christ quite a heresy.

But these things are only as powerful as each individual permits them to be. I find that the great shame of the corrosion of our democratic principles. The fundamental position of the individual as captain of his soul under God. Have they abdicated the war for hearts and minds because they no longer have the moral ground to wage it?

People thought when education became public it would enshrine the individualism that encourages personal responsibility and abstract morality. Seems they weren't counting on all that glitters being not gold.
