So .. Koffi Annan is set to demand a 1 Million Dollar lump sum (supposedly for back pay) as well as $250,000 a year for the rest of his life for retirement pay.

This is the largest golden parachute in UN history. Previous to Annan, the retirement pay was $100,000. per year.

Considering how poorly he has done his job, and considering all the scandals, and considering at 2.5 BILLION Oil for Food dollars are still ‘missing’ from his watch, and considering the nepotism he practiced with corrupt family members and UN funds/jobs, and considering that UN Security Council votes were bought under his watch, and considering everything else corrupt and mismanaged that has been going on for the last ten years …. WHY is he getting anything and WHY isn’t he under serious investigation with a penalty of serious jail time.

Retirement? No. He shouldn’t get a dime until after he’s been seriously investigated. If he’s found guilty of corruption he shouldn’t get a dime. Afterall, you should only get retirement pay if you have done your job and clearly Annan hasn’t.
