The first tsunami warning Buoy in the Indian ocean has been placed into the Ocean.
news.bbc.co.uk
The buoy is being placed between Thailand and Sri Lanka, two of the countries worst-hit by the 2004 tsunami which killed more than 200,000 people.
The buoy, provided by the US, is able to detect sudden increases in pressure deep under the sea and give coastal communities early warning of a
tsunami.
The US already operates a similar system in the Pacific Ocean.

This is nearly two years after the Tsunami. there could easily have been more in that area, there are at least 2 Magnitude 5 earthquakes in that
area each week. Another Tsunami could have easily have happened in two years. Also this is only the first buoy, whats taking so long?
And will the infrastructure be there to make a country wide warning?
