Every river by Runrig. Anything by Runrig as a matter of fact, I cant even think about any of Runrig's songs without feeling like I may die of loss and sorrow.

But this one...heheheh I will never listen to this song as long as I live. A simple little song, it shouldn't have an effect on me eh? I am crying right now just thinking about this song.

Every River

You ask me to believe in magic
Expect me to commit suicide of the heart
And you ask me to play this game without question
Raising the stakes on this shotgun roulette

But you came to me like the ways of children
Simple as breathing, easy as air
Now the years hold no fears, like the wind they pass over
Loved, forgiven, washed, saved

Every river I try to cross
Every hill I try to climb
Every ocean I try to swim
Every road I try to find
All the ways of my life
I'd rather be with you
There's no way
Without you

None of the songs you guys have mentioned are emotional for me even though some of them have sad lyrics, they just don't do it for me.

Here are a few that nearly bring me to the point of tears even though some aren't necessarily intended to be sad songs... they just stir the soul.

Hard Candy Christmas - Dolly Parton
The Sweetest Thing - Juice Newton
You are so beautiful - Joe Cocker
Imagine - John Lennon

Yeah, you are so right about that. I wish I'd remembered it, I'd have mentioned it in my earlier post. That one is definitely a moving song.

Also, "Creep" by Radiohead is another I forgot to mention.

The saddest songs.......a serious contender

Some excellent posts for the saddest songs ever.
I believe this latest submission to rank highly in this genre.
It's tears and tissues time, folks.
Secret Garden featuring the ethereal vocals of Karen Matheson lift this masterwork into an otherworld realm.
Relax & close your eyes.
Prayer
