I found this to be pretty cool. Before the SR-71 a version of the craft was built to carry three long range air to air missiles. It was built to
intercept supersonic bombers. To bad they never built many of them.

M-4, Tu-95, and M-50/M-52. The AIM-47 was also the intended armament of the North American F-108 Rapier, which got as far as a mock-up but was
canceled in September 1959 due to budget cuts.
