Heads Up! (significant ATS redesign coming)

I learned the hard way that ATS is quite big on spooning. Since my run-in with the staff, I too now advocate spooning. As for the love-in, do I get to pick with whom the loving occurs?

Oh, and to keep at least partially on topic, are we close to the roll out of the sexier ATS SO?

Looks sleak, modern, ultra 21st century!

I like the lay out now but well... it does look 5 years old. At least after seeing the oh-so-sexy new page!

Will all the main features of the site stay the same? as far as points, applauses, warns, CHAT??? .. ya know the typical. OO can chat be made into this new black shiny format? .. doesn't work for me anyways but if it ever does that would be nice!

Hmmm...This makes, what?, the fourth or fifth big change since I first registered, way back when?

ATS has had some huge growth spurts & that can be painful...Just ask any adolescent.
Change can be painful too, because it always involves losing something...
...But it also means that there's something to be gained too...


I almost feel like the "Uncle who visits all the time" while ATS has been growing up. I'm a bit proud of the way ATS has grown up & been starting to make it's mark in the world. And I hope Springer's complaints about "ATS is not making enough money" will be solved too (Yeah, I've seen that thread). After all, everybody's got to be able to earn a living when they grow up!


And maybe, just maybe, you can start to relax a bit & stop pulling your hair out, SO!



Hmmm...Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the overall view of a page called the "skin?"

Here's an updated sneak-peek at a portion of the new ATS home page (showing some of the forums).

There's an increased density of information with increased visibility of individual forums.



We'll keep updating this thread as new design features are completed. This way, the transition won't be so startling.

But what about all the GIF's you'll be using for the buttons, etc. How will that affect page loading for people with slow dialup like me?

I think I can answer that.

ATS and other popular discussion boards, use one theme for the board so it kind of has its own unique look.

Not sure if we'll ever get to select themes again. ATS used to have it, but not anymore.

There's still some work to be done on the icons and forum groupings... this will also give you a slight look at some new upcoming features.
