Came across a neat site that some of you might want to bookmark (particularly those doing Google Earth searches). It has a very nice set of links to the ancient Egyptian sites. There's not much from the Middle East, etc, but for those of you who want to go a-touring, here's a great place to start to see what these incredibly old structures look like when viewed from space:
www.jqjacobs.net...

Check it out, and then check sites that are close to you!

I found Presidio San Saba (where I did an archaeology field school) at 30°55'21.61"N, 99°48'7.13"W

The British TV Mini Series called Children of the Stones is Based around the Site ..
which apparently has a small l village with in it
a So called Kids Movie a very Spooky one at that..

all about Time Shifts and Dimensions... from the Cause of the Stones
more less the series is trying to make it as a Soft spot like the Bermuda Triangle

which is of course all fictional ..

Avebury

Constructed around 2600 BCE,[1] during the Neolithic, or 'New Stone Age', the monument comprises a large henge (a bank and a ditch) with a large outer stone circle and two separate smaller stone circles situated inside the centre of the monument. Its original purpose is unknown, although archaeologists believe that it was most likely used for some form of ritual or ceremony. The Avebury monument was a part of a larger prehistoric landscape containing several older monuments nearby, including West Kennet Long Barrow and Silbury Hill.

I think I saw some of those sites on the Mars and Moon images they released.

I could be wrong though.

Sheesh! The original post was in 2006. I'm surprised (and pleased) the site is still up!
