looks like some sort of a whale.
it seems that the creature doesn't have limbs so a whale is a plausible assumption.

When I first saw a week or so ago, I thought it looked like one of the creatures from "The Dark Crystal" (great movie btw)

Hope they do some good research on what it is, it looks like nothing I've ever seen before.

This has been conclusively determined to be a rotting begula whale. The photo is quite clear in the necesary details, such as shape of the skull and the teeth. The "fur" is rotting blubber.
