"Just give it electricity, and a robot can work for long hours, even doing repetitive work, and you don't have to worry about labour laws," Sudo said.

Japan's declining birth rate means that in coming years it could face a labour shortage, and some experts believe that robots could be part of the answer in resolving that problem.

It's really no surprise to me that this is coming from Japan.

I mean, as was stated, Japans birthrate is declining while its
elderly rate is increasing.

I don't know if I hope this technology comes to America or not,
on one hand you have the convenience this offers, that allows
peopole to do other things, but on the other hand Americans
are lazy enough as it is, and technology promoting further
laziness may not be the best thing.

What was your thoughts on this librasleep?

I'm not sure if it would promote laziness or if it would harm the livelihoods of service workers. I can see the idea being appealing to some business owers who, by using robots for employees, won't have to worry about salary raises, sick days, vacations, coffee breaks etc...

It reminds me of that movie A Life Less Ordinary, where Ewan McGregor stars as a cleaning man in L.A. who takes his boss's daughter hostage after being fired and replaced by a robot.
