I need some advice on binoculars.

I want to buy a pair of binoculars for general use (not star gazing).

I need them to be compact, able to take a bump and have a great zoom.

Price range, up to $US 600.

Advice:

Make sure after you get them, your girl doesnt put shoe polish around the eye and bust you for watching your hot neighbor.

A pair of binoculars from $20-1000.00 - a hot neighbor that showers with the blinds open an hour before your girl gets home giving you ample viewing time - not getting busted.... priceless.

Typically, binoculars.. are binoculars (with extra goodies as price range goes up) but focusing on just bigger lenses, like with telescopes with be pretty good.
