Here's a though.

Every news channel here in US keeps showing how overstretched out forces are in Iraq, and the new general clearly stated that we need either a bigger force or a smaller war.

What happened to Israel being our biggest ally in the Middle East?

Why not bring IDF to Iraq to give much needed help to our troops then?

Any ideas?

That smacks of the adage 'set a thief to catch a thief'...

...send in the terrorists to kill the terrorists

OMFG...

Iran would be sending millions, not just the hundreds it does across the border to go fight the zionist oppressors...

Oh God no, please, for the love of all things good, don't ever send a jewish army into Iraq...

Thats like pouring petrol onto a man who is on fire to put him out.....

I'm just looking at it rationally, as warped as the reality of that rationale might be.

For years we've been told that our support for Israel is essential in the war on terror, that they are our only ally in the region, and now we need all the military help we can get.

Hell, US army was already buying all kinds of ammo for use in Iraq directly from Israel, and supplying Israel with all kinds of smart munitions for the bombing of Lebanon, how much worse can it get?

Our troops desperately need help right now just to get out of Iraq, and unless that help comes from somewhere, as Kofi Annan said we're just stuck there.

What's all that economic, technological and military aid to Israel is for then?

As far as I think, this is it, and if IDF can bomb Lebanon to the ground with out starting WW III, they sure as heck can send some troops to Iraq and relieve the pressure from our boys out there.

Why should our guys do all the fighting the bleeding and the dying?

Iraq sure is closer to Israel then to us, and Israel being our only ally and the major regional power there, where they all at when we need them most?

I don't think that IEDs will be making any distinction between blowing up USMC boys or IDF boys, to them it's all the same, but fresh IDF troops can sure relieve our battered troops out there.

Jihadists have been threatening to blow everybody up for years anyway, so what difference 20, 30 thousand IDF troops are going to make?

Why did Israel bomb Lebanon? Beacuse of the hamas illegal military milita was kindnapping soldiers and shooting missles into Israel. Please no not leave half of the facts out. Lebanon could not control its own territory from being a launching pad of Iran's proxy military. What was Israel suppose to do? Take one up the........you know.....Or punish the population for hiding the people shooting missles at them. A no win situation for anyone except Iran and maybe the US.

I think it absurd to think Israel going into Iraq. Most of the middle east hates Israel, so to bring extra negativity to a bad situtation would be a huge blunder. Sort of like the whole invasion of Iraq.

The IDF has enough problems on its own, dealing with the Palestinians. As well as terrorist groups in neighboring countries. Not to mention that its performance in Lebanon shows they ain't ready to deal with Iraq with smaller manpower, equipment, and resources. Even I read the articles of Israel soldiers having shortages of almost everything while fighting in Lebanon. LEBANON, right next door!!!!

It's VERY VERY obvious as one poster has pointed out - it would be incredibly stupid ending a Jewish Army into an Arab country. Come on a bit of common sense please.

Well what's the point of all that aid then?

I'll put it this way.

It's like having a buddy from another neighborhood where all of the kids keep fighting, so you keep helping your buddy out, but when you your self got into a fight in that same neighborhood, all of the sudden that very same buddy can't help you because it's going to make you look bad...?

How in the hell does that work?

Israel is the strongest military power in the Middle East, and we've been making sure of that for decades. IDF manpower, equipment, and resources are more then adequate since Israel is on constant war alert.

As for shortages, it's a fact of ANY war, and US forces are also short of everything and all of the time.

I say after years of all kinds of aid, it's time for Israel to help America out.

Israel pretty much may have the military power to help the U.S. deal with Iraq. But what about the political world? How does the Prime Minister explain to his people why he should send Israel's forces, built to defend Israel, to occupy Iraq? He will be kicked out of his office, no doubt about it, even if the Israeli people knows that America has funded them. Not to mention we don't want to how we should say "show our hand" by making it look like the Jewish-Crusader alliance hell bent on conquering the Arab world. Seriously, it will definitely arouse the rest of the Muslim world to join the fight. We should be glad theres a minority thats fighting us.

You pose a good question but it won't be answered. The aid we send is not for them to help us..its to help themselves to continue the occupation and to keep the surrounding countries at bay in the event they protest. You wont see them shedding any blood on our behalf.

They are in Iraq but of course its for monetary gains training Kurdish troops to guard the airport in Mosul and more then likely setting themselves up at the same time for the pipeline from Mosul to Haifa.

So what happened with the Israeli lobby turning entire Washington upside down to push this war? How does our own President explains the war to us then? Why is Israeli PM accountable to his people and has to explain why exactly his army is going to war somewhere, and our President is not?

It's just all backwards, and apparently we are the ones always stuck with the bill.

Arabs have been calling it a Zionist-Crusader alliance for years now, that train has left long time ago, or did you miss the part when American flag is burned it's burned right along side Israeli flag?

It's obvious that to the Arab world USA is the big brother of Israel, so no need to split hairs here.

If our enemy considers both US and Israel to be clear allies in this war, we are apparently the ones getting the short end of the stick here, because I don't see any IDF boys helping anywhere in Iraq.

Heck, if they can take care of security in rural areas, they'll free up the troops for Anbar and Baghdad, but no, as always, when it comes to taking care of the mess, we're always the ones stuck with the mop.

Not right.

I'm just asking exactly the same question that's constantly being repeated by our media when it comes to help for Israel. You turn on a channel and keep hearing "Israel is our friend, we must help them, it's our responsibility.", and when it comes to us needing help, not a peep.

It's always "those Arabs are murderous, uncivilized barbarians and Israelis have to live right next to them, and we must protect them at all costs", but when those same Arabs are killing Americans every single day, where are our Israeli friends to help us?

Here's a perfect example ;www.abovetopsecret.com...

That thread talks about another propaganda movie about Radical Islam, and the same people that drummed up Iraq are now drumming up a war with Iran.

We already got all the Radical Islam we can handle in Iraq, and if some people want a war with Iran, how about helping a little in Iraq first.
