Mysterious blast shakes my home town...

A couple of months ago a mysterious blast shook my home town. It was quite loud and it shook my entire house.

Two months later people are still not sure what it was.

Some astronomers say it was a meteor entering the atmosphere at a very high speed and exploding.

From a national news paper, the Globe and Mail:

Nanaimo, B.C. � Was it a sonic boom, a dynamite blast, or an asteroid hitting the earth?

Government and local emergency services were stumped Wednesday afternoon, unable to explain a powerful blast that shook Nanaimo from stem to stern.

Any of you have any ideas as to what it could be...

It seems to me there are a few possiblities

1) There was dynamite blasting going on without a permit
2) (I don't generally subscribe to these types of theories, but I might as well put it out) The government was lying and there was a plane or artillary being tested.
